EDUCATIONAL.
WELLINGTON. September 16. The Education Department is preparing manuals in physical drill, woodwork, and cardboard modeling for use in the schools throughout the colony. Physical drill is now compulsory, bub the manual is merely suggestive of the work. Teachers will be permitted to use other books of instruction if they serve the purpose. The manuals will be ready at an early date.
