The Australians commenced their last match of the tour at Kensington Oval against a team of Players. The team was the same as the last Players' Eleven, ercepting that Vine replaced Lockwcod. The Australians omitted Howell, Carter, and Jones. . The weather was dull and the wicket easy, affording excellent pace. The Players won the toss. Abel and Hiayward opened. Trumble and Saunders' were the first to bowl. When 20 Hayward gave Trumble a sharp chance for a catch off his own bowling. Despite frequent changes in the bowling, the score mounted' steadily. With the total at 70 Abel had scored 28 and Hay ward 41. Eleven inns later Abel was caught by Hii'l in the slips. He was 85 minutes at the wicket", and gave an admirable display.—One for 81. At the luncheon adjournment the score stood at 104—Hayward 56, Tyldesley 12. On resuming both were batting vigorously. The century andl a half soon appeared, with 74 to the credit of Hayward, who was stumped' by Kelly off a hot chance. He was two hours and threequarters at the wickets, and made seven fourers.—Two for 166.
