With the total at 70 Abel had scored 28 and Hay ward 41. Eleven inns later Abel was caught by Hii'l in the slips. He was 85 minutes at the wicket", and gave an admirable display.—One for 81. At the luncheon adjournment the score stood at 104—Hayward 56, Tyldesley 12. On resuming both were batting vigorously.
