LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
PALMERSTON N., September 9
The balance of the Oroua Downs estate, consisting of 8300 acres, has just been disposed of in dairy farm areas through Johnston and Sim in conjunction with. Abraham and Williams. This property was originally under offer to the Government, who subsequently notified that they were prepared to give £5 10s per acre. The owners would have accepted £6 per acre. Had the Government secured it at that price they would, according to the recant sales, have cleared £10,000 by the transaction. ■,*»,
