LAST WEEK'S QUOTATIONS. AUCKLAND. After a slack week, business has resumed its ordinary steadiness. lhe potato market is firm and the demand is very good. Arrivals from the south are. increasing, and the market is rising, though the present quotation is only equal to laid-down cost. Canterburys, £5 per ton j locals, £4 to £4 10s.

About 2700 sacks of msize came to hand this week; 13,00 sacks were sent to Sydney. Sydney inquiry has suddenly .ceased, and price has dropped from 4s 2d to 4s. Local flax has advanced by £1 per ton during the week, and fair quantities are arriving. The oat market continues! firm, with no alteration in prices. Milling wheat is .scarce, and prices are firm. Fowl wheat supplies are heavy. Chaff is very scarce. The price is unaltered. Bran and sharps are still scarce, and the advance reported is maintained. The onion market, is bare; only CaJifornianj offering, at £15 to £16. Cheese is scarce, and an advance of to £d took place to-day. Butter is very scarce, owing to export to Sydney. There ■are no stocks of factory held. Factory i* Is 3d; fatrmers' is unaltered. Eggs are in large supply at 8d per dozen wholesale It ia reported locally that a vessel has been chartered to load Manitcban flour for New Zealand.
