,Afc a special;meeting -pi- the Westporb Chamber* of Commerce, tie if ollowing resolution, moved by the president (Mr Bayfield), w.as'upanimousljr carried—"That this Chamber unanimously endorses the action of the Premier in his protest to the War Offioe against their exclusion of givingpart of army meat contract to New Zealand,' and further resolves that the right hon. gentleman be thanked for his prompt action in not only looking after the interejt^s of the colony, but also in giving prominence to the opportunity of adding to the solidarity of the Empire'in the ma-Kter of commerce."
