BRUSH WORK.
The subject of study in the Brushwork Class for Monday was the Gaillardia. Unfortunately many of the students had been able to provide themselves with specimens, and some members of the class were consequently working under difficulties. The clear explanations of Miss Landels, however, did much t© help those who were unprovided, and most of the students succeeded in making good work. The average character of the work showed how the students had progressed in the short time at then? disposal. Considerable difficulty was experienced by many in introducing the tinting at the base of the leaf by using both colours on one brush. Tlie students in this class would do well to provide themselves with a great reducable brush, as the superiority of the work of those who have done so points out the advantage of working with the best material.
