WELLINGTON DEFEATS OTAGO.
WELLINGTON, August 10. The Wellington-Otago . interprovincial nv fcch was played on the Caledonian '.hound in beautiful weather, before a very large attendance, Wellington winning by 10 points to 9. In the first spell Oliago had all the best of the play, scored p. try, and placed a goal from a penalty kick. Wellington played up well in the second spell, and were pressing, but Otago getting into their quarters, scored another trv. The local team appeared then to be content with acting on the defensive.
