In the Senior. Cup matches played at Wellington on Saturday hist the Petone team beat Wellington by 13 points to 6 points ; while t'ie Poneke v. Oriental match resulted in a draw, both sides scoring 9 points each. The Melrose v. Old Boys match was won by the foi mer after .i spirited and well contested game by 9 points to nil. At Christchurch in the .Senior Cup matches Mi rivale (6) beat Kaiapoi /5), Christchurch (9; beat Sydenham (3), Liuwood (6) beat Albion (3).

Tho football .season opened at Auckland on Saturday last. During a match at Waihi a half-back had his hip so bad'y injured that he had to be carried off tbe field. Towards the finish some of the specttors became so wildly excited that they took charge of the field. Several were thrown down among the players and more or less injured.

The Senior Cup match, Patea White Stars v. Waverley, played at Waverley on Saturday last, resulted in a win for tho White Stars (not Waverley as stated yesterday) by 3 points (a try) to nil. Members of the Old Boys Football Club (forwards especially) are requested to roll up at the Col'ege Gymnasium this evening at 7.30 o'clock.

The members of the AVanganui Football Club are reminded of the practice in Jackson's yards on Wednesday night at 7.30. Entrance from Avenue, between Jones and Son's and N.Z. Insurance Co. Tbe Junior members are particularly requested lo attend, so that the second fifteen can bc fixed up. Tlie lion, secretary also requests that those members of the first fifteen who are unable to journey to Patea will notify him as soon as possible.
