MR. WINSTONE CHURCHILL.
Winstone Leonard Spencer Churchill, lieutenant of the 4th Queen's Own Hussars, whose bravery at Chievolet is highly praised, is the eldest son of the late Right Hon. Rando!ph Churchill, and was born November 30th, 1874". He entered the Army in 1895, served with the' Spanish forces in Cuba in the same year, and received the -first-class (Spanish) Order, of Military Merit ; served attached to the Punjab Infantry with Mulakand Field Force in 1897, and was present at operations at Bajaur, including actions on the 16 - and 30th September. He was mentioned in despatches and received medal' with clasp. He served as orderly 'officer to Sir William Lockhart with Tyrah Expeditionary Force, 1898, for which he received the clasp. He served attached to the 21st Lancers in the Soudan, and was present at the battle of Omdurman, and received medal with clasp. He is best known to the public by the publication of The Story of the Mulakand Field Force, 1898. He is serving as correspondent of tho London Morning Post at the war.
