WOMEN'S POLITICAL LEAGUE.
A meeting of the Wangauui Women's Political League was held in the Borough Council Chambers last evening. After the minutes of the last meeting had been read and confirmed the subject for the evening was dealt with—" Our Duty to thn Unfit." —(1) The Defective ; (2) The Criminal ; (3) The Poor. Excellent papers were contributed by Mrs Bullock, Mrs Ncwcorabe and Miss Stedman. Mrs Browne and Mrs Blair read extracts from papers on Prison Reform. The following resolution, proposed by Mrs Williamson and seconded by Mrs Bullock, was carried, Tbat the present lock-up accommendation should be altered and improved in accordance with the recommendation of the Police Commissioners and Inspector Tunbridge. ,It was also resolved, on the motion of Williamson, seconded by Mrs Newcombe, That iv the opinion of this League better classifi ation should be adopted in the Asylums and prisons of tlm colony, and other provisions ghould be "made for epilep ie aud sufferers from senile decay.
