WANGANUI v. FEIUIING
This match took place yesterday al Feilding, the Wanganui Club sending three full rinks. The visitors were hospitably entertained to luncheon, and play commenced at 2 o'clock prompt. There was a strong wind blowing, and the Feilding Green is much more exposed than the Wauganui oue. This may partly account for the decisive victory obtained by the Feilding players ; but in any case they were in line form, and played a, sterling game. Itink 1. — Wanganui : 1 Elliott, 2 Bignall, 3 Foster, and ••kip Bodwell — were opposed to 1 Eraser, . Bray, Senr,, 3 Dickson ,and ski]) Scott ; the latter team scoring 24 to their < pponents' 13. At rink 2 Wjinganiii was iepresenled by 1 McCarthy, 2 flatherly, 3 Benuetield, and skip Moult ; lo a-hum were opposed 1 Curtis, S Saiidilan-.1-*, 3 Wyll'fi, .md skip Young, the Feilding ''U/.'rs winning by 24 to 15. At rink 3 Wangimii were represented by 1 jVlity, 2 Fouir.a-.ii, 3 Tawse, and skip Armstrong ; and Feilding by 1 Bray, Junr., 2 (Joodbelieere, 3 Thomson, and skip Saywell j the sc.iio being: Wanganui 17, Feilding 26. lt will be seen that Feilding were victorious in all three rinks, the totals being : l-"e:ldm fr - -73, Wanganui 45. The president i.f the Feilding Club addressed a few wovls tf .welcome aud called for cheers, which wtre given with great energy. The vice-pies:-dent of the Wanganui Club, jn the absence of the president, through illness, thanked the Feilding players for the cordial manner in which they had received their guests, and cheers were returned heartily. The Wanganui Club has not yet been able to beat the Feilding players on rheir preen, but has been much more successful on its own. A large number of the Feilding players escorted their visitors lo the station, and, with cheering and Uaud-sh-iking, i most enjoyable outing came to au en 1.
The iiual for the Champion Boy. Is of the li.cal club was played on Hie green yesterday afternoon, between Messrs. B. J\lcFarliiue and J. Jienuie. The former won by 22 to 16. fl ijf worthy .of note that Mr. D. McFarlane mm the .l.unior Bowls, so that this year father mid son have the honour of appropriating th echief honours.
