COLLEGE v. MARTON.

A match was i layed yesterday on the College Ground between the College and Marton Clubs. Play began shortly after 11 o'clock. ' The weather at first was threatening, but although it continued cold the rain held- off. The College team went first to the wickets, and 4 fell for 16 and 5 for 34 -runs, but Wilder and Riddiford made a good stand, so that a l , lunch time 6 only were down for 70. On resuming, however, the remainder were out for 4 runs added. The Marton captain then sent Messrs Cohen and B. H. Wilson, and the latter by very pretty cricket soon scored 48, which included 8 fours. Cohen had in the meantime scored 17. Wilson w*s rather badly run out by Bousfield, who was running for him. Cohen, by very steady and sure cricket, kept gradually adding to the score until the opponents .total was reached. HU fellows kept "coming and Roiifg, until at about 5.30 he was bowled by Gilliea. This was the last wicket to fall. And his innings, although not perhaps so attractive as usual, was without a chance. The fielding on both sides was not so good as it might have bee.n. The following are the scores : -
