Yesterday's rout is inexplicable, except that the team was overwhelmed by the hopelessness of the task. The wicket, »» doubt, worked a bit with the. bowlers, but Cobcroft's and Frankish's inning j proved llut the bowling could be punished. The team leave for Sydney to-night. "Heather, Secretary <if the local Association, has been untiring in his efforts to entertain the visitors. The Association spent well over £100 in this way, while the Melbourne Club paid the ground expenses. The South Melbourne Club, the Bland Holt and 'the Brough theatrical companies also provUed entertainment for the team.
