ANNUAL REFOR P. Tbe following is the annnal ropcri to be presented tothe ancuil met ting of the Association, to be held in Messrs F. ft, Jackson and Co 'a rooms on Satnrday, 20th June:— "Your committee, in presenting the annual balance-sheet, have to report that the last show was faitly well attended, aud was car.iod to n iuocessful issue, and tho Atsocation lira to be congratulated on the substantial poi ition it now occupies. Commencing the year with a small crsd t bal ince, they now have a cash balance ot £00 18; 6d, besides yards and ma tomi to the value of £149 17s 6d. The number rf entries in sbeep showed a slight increase as compart d with previous years, as also the entries in the '■' sundry " cia cop, whilo those in horreß and cattle showed a Blight decrease. Noveithelees, the quality of those exhibited « era exceptionally good, and would bear favourable comparison ■ with those exhibited at any show in ihe North Island. A much greater interesc has lately been displayed in the affairs of the Association, the number of mem. bers being the largest attained fcr tome yeai s, and from iromises tf future support received by various members of the commit' ee from farmers in the district, it is bjlievtd the next show will be one of the largest t v. r he'd here. When it is considered thv f , the Associat'oi is ree gnised by the culsidj public ai tho offid.l m'.anaof communicating with the farming community it nill be easily seen bow important it is tint a personal interest in the affairs of the Aisociation by all a_ec f ed should be taken. The cfficial duties of tbe officers are not confined to merely carrying out the dutits appertaining at the time of the show, but require attontion ta correspondence the while year round. The committee therefore confidently urge upon, the farmers iha advantage of becoming members of il» Association, and banding together to mate the Association a thoroughly representative one. The secretarial duties have been efficiently carried out by Mr. Liffiton during the year, and the committee when voting him an honor arium pasted a special vote of thanks to him for hin energetic and capable management. For the infoimation of members a tabulated return for the past four years is appended showing at a glanoe a comparison between each year. sYour committee regret they were unsuccessful in obtaining any snbslanial reduction in railway fares on the day of iha' show, and think it should bs a recommendation to the new committee to make farther efforts in this direction.
