"DADDY" TRACEY'S CONCERT.
It is a well-known fact that no appeal is over made in vain to tho public of Wangamii for aid in any charitablo project, and this was again fully exemplified lu-ct night at the Oddfellows' Hall, when a largo and enthusiastic audience assembled to show their sympathy with poor old ''Daddy," and to enjoy one of the pleasant-c-st and most diversified concerts which has yet been held in Wanganui, Previous to the concert tho Garrison Band, under Bandmaster Bicbardson.discoursed sweet music outside the hall, and afterwards playud the openiug overture, " Pride of Ireland (Round) in their u=iul finishod ptyle. The programme consisted of— Chorus, "Moonlight," Company; song, "No, my comrade," (from Maritana), Mr McKeDzio, encured ; ballad, "If the waters could ap«ak as they flow," Mrs House; violin Rolo, ''Air Varia," Miss Claudia Prica ; nong, " Tbe Knight's qufist," Mr Ueasley; duet, "The windbloweth in from the sea," Mes-.clarnes Lloyd and Butler; song (comic), "Patrick Brannigan," Mr Brown. Tho second part opened with a pianofoite solo by Mrs Edj>ar, a Christcliurch lady at present on a visit to Wanganui,|«ho played ''A Minuet" (by Paderswski) in a most brilliant manner. This lady also played the accompaniments for Mr Mackenzie's and Mr Brown's songs. A comic song, '• It's a pity to waste it," was th a next item, by Mr Crecier; soug, "Tho Cameron Men," Air Mackenzie; sing, "Nea," Mrs Alpin, another lady uho who made her first appearance, and won tho approval of all present ; duet, "O'er the Dale," Mesdamo3 Lloyd and Miss Noill; recitation, MrMoffat; Highland flinsr.. Master McGregor; song (comic), "all through a little piece of bacon," Mr G. Brown. At the close of the entortainment Mr Bambor, on behalf of the committee, thanked the performers aad the audience for their attention and assistance and so closed a very onioyable affair.
