I Stock was rather easier at Okaiawa on tho 30th ult The yaids wort fairly well filled with cattle and sheop, but there was no life in the sale, and several of the lines returned home unsold. We quoto : Threeyear forward bullocks, £n to £5 10s ; 18---month to 2-year steers, .£3 to .£3 9s; weaners, £1 12s to £2 lis ; fat and forward cows, jet to £1 6s ; cows and calves and cows in calf. .£3 7s to £i 10s. Sheep —Mixed sheep, 4s 7d. The clearing sale whioh was held at Manutahi on Friday, the Ist inst., on behalf of Messrs Hendy and Pease, turned out a really excellent one. '1 he stock was all in splendid condition, which speaks y well for the quality of the land upon which they were pastured. A large number of people turned up at the sale and bidding was keen throughout, so that everything was quitted at the hammer. We quote:— Eighteen-month to 2-yia.' steers, .£3 43 to £i ss ; yearling steers, £2 18s 6d ; fat and forward cows, £i 7s 6d to M 8s 6dj cows and heifers in calf, £3 Os to £i 12s Gil; cows aud calves, '£i 18s to jES 6s 6d ; yearlings, £2 Us. Sheep —Shorn ewos and lambs, 9s j shorn hoggets, <Js 2d. fa U r e held our sale at Manaia on Wednesday the 6th inst. The stock yarded was about equal lo the adveitised entries, [ and though the bidding was rather slack we managed to dispose of all the Muss of [ cattle yarded.
