POLICE COURT.
Thursday, 7th Deckmbbr. (Before J. Notman and Morton. Jones, EEqs., J.P.s) DBUNKENNESS. Thomaa Long vms charged on tho information of Mounted Constable Howilt with using obscene language within the hearing of pa?sers-by. Accused pleaded not guilty to this charge, but admitted the charge of drunkenness preferred by Constable Stacey. Constable Hewitt gave evidonce ns to tho language used, and accused was accordingly convicted and sentenced to one week's imprisonment. On the other charge he wasj sentenced to 48 hours; both sentences to rnn concurrently. ALLEGED PETTY LARCENY. Tames Watson was charged fey Iho police with having on the 6th December, stolen two beer glasses, valued at 4s Gd, the property of John Mahoney. Accused pleaded not guilty, and the ovidenco of J. JUahoney, A. Griesback, Constable Sherman, and F. Coleman having been tukon the accused was convicted and summarily dealt with, being sentenced to one weok's imprisonment with hard labour.
