ILLUSING A CHILD.

(Prat Pbess Association.) Mastkrton, August 10. At the B.M. Court to-day, Thomas and Elizabeth Goodgiune, oE Mauriceville. was charged with illegally beating a girl named Thompson, 15 years of age, the daughter of the latter. Medical evidence showed that the child was one mass of bruises. The child herself stated she had been made to walk to a creek on frosty mornings without a vestige of clothing ou, and had a vessel containg urine emptied over her head, and made swallow a portion of the contents. Accused admitted having made the child sleep on boards, and thrashed her with pieces of wood, but denied having adopted unnecessary measures. The case was just about concluded when thefomalo accused swooned, and it was adjourned until Monday.
