Whimbrel, after playing up, ran. mile on the course proper (with a big weight up) in lmin 62sec, , The betting market was brisker to-day. For the Newmarket Handicap, Bungebab. is firm at 100 to 20; Conceit has advanced to 100 to 5 ; Cooramin is at the same price, and Utter at 100 to 4, February 25. Four to one is now the best price on offer about Bungebab for the Newmarket Handicap, all nines to two having been exhausted; Fernando, who has been down at Mr James Wilson's stables at Queenscliffe for some weeks, is receiving steady support at 100 to 6. Grey Gown is also being nibbled at quietly for the Newmarket Handicap at 1000 to 30, and for the Cup has eased to 7 to 1.
