(special to press association.) LONDON. February 8. Mr Pender makes the further reduction on cables contingent on all the colonies extending the subsidy six years. The Indian Government object to the Press concession unless it is made avail* able to all of the colonies. The Colonial Office authorities express disbelief that the neutrality of the New Hebrides is endangered, and think that a fresh protest would be unwise, although they will be prepared to make it if asked. The A gents- General wait upon Lord Granville to-morrow for the purpose of welcoming him to the office of Seoretary for the Colonies, and Mr Murray-Smith will take the opportunity of referring to the New Hebrides question. Messrs Gillow and Co., the wellknown decorators, have been commissioned to carry out the decorations of the Australian Court at the Indian and Colonial Exhibition. February 9. Mr John Morley, speaking at New* oastle, announced that Government would conciliate Ireland.
