PANIC AT A RELIGIOUS SERVICE.
The GospeJ Mission Hall in Copen- ; hJigen-street, London, was crowded on Sunday evening with an audience to " see and hear a " Singiug Preacher." me gallery at tbe enrl of the hall was excessively crowded and during the service began to exhibit symptoms of insecurity. Thisalanned the congregation, and a gentleman suggested that as the gallery appeared to be somewhat overcrowded, it would conduce to the public' safety if some of its occupants quietly retired. Something like a panic ensued, many persons. leaving the hall. As for 'he occupants of the gallery, no sooner aid. they become fully aware of the .danger, then they made a sudden and united rush to get. out. /This had the efttct of bringing down the bale ny with a loud crash. A cloud of dust prevented those at ihe other end of the nail seeing the full' extent of the disaster, but it was known that many persons must be buried in the debris. After some time, those who were unable to rise wcree'xfcricated from the ruined- gallery, when it was found that ">• ou.y thr,>e persons were anything like seriously injured, ( md. these were at . , ouca cuuveyed to tbeir homes.
