July 27. ] At the meeting of the Colonial Bank j shareholders to-day the report of the Directors was adopted, recommending a < 6 pcx cent, dividend. During the meet- c ing the Chairman, Mr George McLean, t stated that the amount of mortgages i executed in the colony under the Land i Transfer Act alone during the last t twenty months reached the enormous s sum of i' 4,315,000, and of this Otago t and Southland represented £2,802,000. c The Refrigerating Company have re- t ceived a cablegram of the purchase of a machines in London, and have tele- C graphed urging their immediate ship- v ment.
