Captain Cleary, of the Emperor, reports that on July 10th, when about 17 miles this side of Terawhiti, he passed a brig which corresponded in rig and general description to the brig Firefly, reported as being missing. These figures show a : great reduction on the cost compared ' with the previous years. The total 1 number of people receiving relief of all , kinds was — males, 119 ; females, 170 ; 1 children, 570 ; total, BGB. 1
