THE HARBOUR BOAED.

TO THE EDITOR. Slß, —The Chairman, of the Harbour Board in submitting the estimates for the current year, has inadvertantly, no doubt, made a slight omission, viz., the cost of working the dredge. I expect it is included in the £250 put down for incidental expenses. Ido not agree with " Observer " about the composition of the Finance Committee. I think it is first-rate. Possibly it would have been better if the whole ticket had been on, for I fancy Mr Lowes will not feel very comfortable if he accepts a seat on the Finance Committee. —l am, &c, Tantwha.
