IS EXCEPL-ENCY the Governor having, by Proclamation dated 3rd July 1861, declared that her Majesty the Queen bad been pleased to assent to the “ Naval and Military Settlers Act the undermentioned Clauses of: the said Act are published for the information of Naval and Military Settlers:— “111. That all such Officers, Non-com-missioned Officers, and Privates, Marines, and Sedmen, as mentioned in the said recited acts, who have resided in the several provinces of Wellington and Taranaki for twelve months previous to the passing of this Act, shall be entitled to land free of cost in the said provinces respectively, upon the same conditions as prescribed by the said Acts, provided that all applications fer laud under the provisions of this Act shall be made within three months from Proclamation of her Majesty’s confirma riou of this Act having been given shall have been made by the Governor.” “ Y.
