IRELAND.
King’s county continues a disgrace to Ire* land. On Tuesday last (21st. Feb,)_a mau named lviattnew i-Artcm was attacKea at i.miikerrin by a party of men, and -so dreadfully beaten that he lingered in great agony until Friday, when he died. Some dispute about the taking of a farm is assigned as the reason for this outiage. The steward of Jonathan Pirn, Esq., was served on Saturday night with a notice (with the ' form of a coffin drawn cm it.) to quit his situation or “settle his affairs.” The calendar for trial at the approaching assizes at Tullamore shows the prevalence of agrarian or ribbon outrages; but only one single prisoner appears amenable for the several assassinations recently perpetiated in King’s county. •
The “ Irish marrying season,” which closed on Tuesday last, has been, this year, more than usually successful, much to the advantage of the Roman Catholic clergy, and the delectation of wedding goers. The middle particularly, made a first-rate turn out of it The Lotharios have been most liberal in the payment of the marriage fees, and many a “ good father ” buttoned his pocket upon a T2O or T3O note, after performing the ceremony, as a reward for his kind services.—Nenagh Guardian.
