Empire Day.
Empire Day will be celebrated in Wellington and other centres today. Flags are flying on public buildings in Masterton in commemoration.
Power Board Representation. Mr. F. C. Daniell has given notice that he will move, at tomorrow’s meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board: “That all necessary steps be taken to give Castlepoint County one representative, elected by that county, on the Wairarapa Electric Power Board,”
Optimist Club Meeting. At the weekly tea meeting of the Masterton Optimist Club last night a talk on “The Boulder Dam” was given by Mr Colin Lyttle. The club sheriff, Mr Don Mills, who is joining the Air Force next week, was farewelled. Mr Rayner was thanked for having cooked the tea. There will be a visiting speaker next week. Splehdid Concert.
Patrons at the concert presented by Hansell’s Sports Club ih the Savage Club rooms, MastertO'ri, last night, -were pleased with the splendid programme that was presented. The items were interesting arid of a high standard, and the audierice was generous With its aipplause. The programme will be repeated tonight.
