CHURCH SERVICES

in St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow at 6 in St. Matthews Church tomorrow at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich will preach at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Easter Communion will be celebrated at Kuripuni at 9 a.m., and Upper Plain at 10 a.m. Captain H. Sutcliffe will preach at Kuripuni at 7 p.m.

Easter services will be held in the Baptist'Church tomorrow. The minister, the Rev. A. L. Silcock, will be the preacher. The subject at the morning service will be “The Victories of Calvary,” and in the evening the popular Bible lectures will be continued, with an address on “Th Communion of Saints.” A bright community sing of old time Gospel hymns will commence fifteen minutes before the evening service.

Easter services will be conducted in the Knox .Presbyterian Church tomorrow by the minister, the Rev. D. W. Storkey. The subject in the morning will be “If Christ Be Not Risen,” and in the evening, “The Transformation uf Tragedy.” Special services will be held in the radio “Voice of Prophecy” centre over Easter. On Sunday Pastor T. Stewart Brash will screen pictures illustrating the closing scenes in the life of Jesus Christ. The filmslide “Victor or Victim,” “Retrial of Christ,” sets forth the dramatic scenes of the trial of Jesus Christ. The Radio Centre is a people’s service.

There will be a parade of Easter campers at the Methodist Church on Sunday morning when the preacher will be the Rev. R. Grice, of Carterton. The junior choir will render special music appropriate to the occasion. In the evening the preacher will be Mr J. A. Hessell. The service at Rangitumau at 2 p.m. will be conducted by Mr T. F. Mannell and the preacher at the evening service at Kuripuni will .be Mr F. G. Rutter.

The services at the Salvation Army barracks tomorrow will be conducted by Major and Mrs Hawkes.
