FALL IN PRODUCTION

FARMERS’ UNION CONCERNED. LETTER TO MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL. The Provincial Executive of the Auckland Farmers’ Union stated, in a letter which came before the Masterton County Council yesterday that the Farmers’ Union was extremely dissatisfied with the failure of its constant endeavours to prevent a decline in farm production which it had long foreseen. Ventilation of the Union’s serious grievance in the Press, the letter added, was prohibited by regulation. The situation was clearly stated in a resolution carried by the Dominion Executive of the Farmers’ Union but publication in the Press of the resolution had been refused. The text of the resolution was detailed. The council decided to advise the Union that it approved of the resolution, but it could not see what could be done in the matter.
