Mrs H. Tucker, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs R. Gough, Nireaha.

Mr W. G. A. Terry, of Atea, is undergoing treatment at the Masterton Hospital. Mr N. R. Cunningham, of Masterton, has left on a short business visit to Sydney and Melbourne. Mr and Mrs O. E. Niederer, have returned to Nireaha, after having spent a holiday at Huinga (Taranaki). Mr S. G. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, will arrive in Wellington from Christchurch tomorrow. He will preside at a caucus of National Party parliamentary members on Thursday and, Friday.

Major and Mrs Hawkes, of Newmarket. will succeed Major and Mrs Stone in charge of the Masterton Salvation Army. Major Hawkes is an old and experienced Salvation Army officer and has had charge of Salvation Army Corps at Auckland, Dunedin, Palmerston North and Wanganui. He, is a keen bible student and excellent speaker. Mr .and Mrs Stone have •been transferred to Nelson.

The interment of the late Mrs M. Webber, of 17 Cole Street, Masterton, took place at the Masterton Cemeteiy or. Saturday afternoon. The Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich conducted a service at the residence and also officiated in the Masterton Cemeteiy. Many beautiful wreaths were in evidence. The pall-bearers .were Messrs P. C. Reynolds, L. Barber, L. Gordon, F. Knowles, N. Watson and B. Larsen. There was a representative attendance at the funeral in Master ton, on Saturday of the late Mr E. J. Wing;. The Rev. D. W. Storkey conducted a 1 service at the Chapel of Hyde s Fui - oral Service Ltd. and also that at the cemetery. Wreaths were sent by the officers and members of the Wairarapa Coursing Club, Ward VI, Master ton Hospital, and the Red Star Football Club, besides many others from private sympathisers. Messrs G. Hunter, R. Milne. J. O’Hara, H. E. Gardner, A. Southey and W. O'Hara acted as pailbearers.

Mrs Sophia Florence Dymock who died at her residence, Durie Hill, Wanganui, at the age of 92 years was the eldest daughter of the late Robert and Mrs Langdon, who arrived in New Zealand in the ships Lady Leigh and Lady Nugent in 1842. Landing in Wellington Mr Langdon interested himself in business pursuits, and was for sone years secretary to Sir William Fitzherbert, at that time Provincial Superintendent in Wellington. In 1855 Mi Langdon and his wife, formerly Miss Margaret Sellar, took up farming land at Tinui. Mrs Dymock was married in 1870, and with her husband went, to Wanganui and settled on farming land at Brunswick in that year. Twelve years later they went to reside in Wanganui. Mr Dymock taking up the duties of Clerk to the Waitotara County Council.
