ODD FELLOWS’ LODGE
PARCELS APPRECIATED BY SOLDIERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Two members of Loyal Heart fo Oak Lodge of Odd Fellows, Carterton, have written to the secretary acknowledging the receipt of Christmas parcels sent them-—Bro. Ken G. Nix, of the Canadian Legion War Services, and Bro. W. Adair. Both express appreciation of the parcels which were the envy of their hut mates. EIOWLING CLUB PAIRS TOURNAMENT. In a pairs tournament played on the Carterton bowling green yesterday, E. Clark won the skips section and J. L. Harris the leads. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs A. E. Pankhurst have received advice that their son, who was wounded while® fighting in Italy, was not seriously injured. Snow on Tararuas. Mr W. Spooner and a youth who left for the Tarawa ranges in quest of deer on Saturday last reached their destination before nightfall. They slept in a small tent and left the entrance open. In the morning they were surprised to see that snow had fallen. Their sleeping bags were covered with snow. Later on another storm struck the mountain, and brought with it a heavy fall of hail.
