CAR SOMERSAULTS TWICE

ACCIDENT AT TE ORE ORE.

TWO MARINES ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL.

As a result of a car overturning while negotiating a turn from the Maori pa at Te Ore Ore to the main rbad, Privates James Wergeles and Herbert Sullivan, U.S.M.C., were admitted to the Masterton Hospital last night. Wergeles suffered a broken collar-bone, spinal injuries and slight head injuries, and Sullivan from shock. After receiving treatment Sullivan was discharged from hospital today. Two other Marines who were also in the car were not injured. The injured men were treated by Dr. John Rich, and were admitted to hospital by ambulance. Passers-by notified the police that an accident had occurred. The car, which twice somersaulted, landed on its wheels again, but was extensively damaged. The hospital authorities reported this morning that Wergeles’s condition was satisfactory.
