ENEMY BOMBERS BEATEN OFF
FIGHTERS INTERCEPTED BY SPITFIRES. SOME PROPERTY DAMAGE. (Brit sh Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 12.35 p.m.) RUGBY, August 11. Enemy bombers attacked Malta on Monday night. Less than half of them reached the.r objective. Some damage was done to property and one person was injured. On Tuesday morning fighters attempted to sweep over the island, but were intercepted by Spitfires. In the afternoon reconnaissance planes appeared over the island.
