KAIPARORO
FOOTBALL MATCH WIN FOR MT. BRUCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday last a football match was played at Miki Miki between a team from the Kaiparoro Home Guard and one from the Mt. Bruce Home Guard. The weather was showery with the- result that the ground soon become muddy and the ball slippery. However, a good, fast game was witnessed by a good crowd of spectators. The Mt. Bruce team won by 10 points to 6. The scorers for the winners were J. Lahore whose try was converted by L. Forman, and A. Hunt, who scored a try and converted it. J. Dick scored a try for Kaiparoro and R. Dick kicked a penalty goal. ■The Mount Bruce ladies provided afternoon tea after the match. Card Party. At a flag 500 party held in the Hall last week, the winners were Mrs G. Hansen and Messrs Jim Dick, L. Dick and R. Hensen. Chimneys Damaged. ' Few chimneys in the district escaped damage in the earthquake, but some repairs have already been carried out. Personal Items. The friends of Mrs G. Dick will be pleased to know that she has left the hospital and is progressing satisfactorily. Gunner W. Braddick is at home on furlough. Mrs V. Falkner is the guest of Mrs A. Falkner. Mr and Mrs L. Crosland, of Island Bay, are staying with Mrs M. Hansen.
