EKETAHUNA
AIRMAN HONOURED PRESENTATION FROM CITIZENS. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Tuesday evening a number of citizens of Eketahuna gathered at the residence of Mr and Mrs P. Jensen, Parkville, for the purpose of entertaining Leading Aircraftman Walter Jensen. The Mayor, Mr W. Olsen, presented the guest with a wallet containing a sum of money. In making the presentation on behalf of the citizens of Eketahuna, he wished Leading Aircraftman Jensen the best of luck and a safe return. A number of musical items were rendered and various toasts honoured. The toast of the host and hostess was heartily honoured. Miss M. Anderson, president of the Borough Ladies’ Soldiers’ Comforts Committee, presented Leading Aircraftman Jensen with a parcel of knitted comforts. . Personal Items. Mrs Christie, Hamilton, who has been the guest of Miss Bell, Nireaha, and die Misses Wilson, Eketahuna, has left for Wellington. Miss Miria Chambers has returned from Nelson, and is now the guest of Mrs Bilby, Nireaha. Pte. Noel Payne,-who has been a patient in the Dannevirke Hospital, has returned to Eketahuna.
