The United States must induct 19,900,000 persons into war activities, military and industrial, during 1942-43, said Brigadier-General C. Sherry, of the War Manpower Commission. Of this staggering total, 10,500,000, additional men and women must be put to work in war industries this year and 2,500,000 more next year. Of the remaining 6,900,000, 3,400,000 will be inducted into the armed services this year and 3,500,000 in 1943.
