MANY APPEALS
AGAINST MILITARY SERVICE CALL IN WELLINGTON DISTRICT. MOST OF THEM LODGED . BY EMPLOYERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Of 2,187 married men in the Wellington district called in the last ballot, 1,344 or more than 61 per cent are subject to appeals, 80 per cent of them by employers. Appeals against service in the Home Guard so far represent a small proportion of the 2,600 men called up, the total today being 170. .
