WAR DEMAND
MADE BY THE MEXICAN PRESIDENT SPECIAL SESSION OF CONGRESS CALLED. INDIGNATION AGAINST AXIS. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) MEXICO CITY, May 25. The Permanent Commission of Congress met today and decided to summon a' special session of Congress on Thursday, when it is expected that President Camacho will deliver a war message to a joint session. At today’s meeting of the Commission, President Camacho’s preliminary message expressed indignation at the sinking of two Mexican ships, with the loss of 24 lives. He asked for a special session to’ declare war on the Axis, to suspend constitutional guarantees and to grant extraordinary powers to the President.
