AIR OFFENSIVE
NIGHT RAIDS ON GERMANY BREST AND CHERBOURG ALSO BLASTED. HITS SCORED ON ENEMY SHIP. LONDON, January 7. Targets in western and northwestern Germany were attacked by the Royal Air Force last night. Brest and Cherbourg were also attacked. Enemy shipping off the Norwegian coast were also bombed and Coastal Command aircraft last night scored two direct hits on a merchant vessel. The lights of another ship went out when she was bombed. An enemy fighter was destroyed off the English coast today.
