COURT OFFICER FAREWELLED

MR J. C. CORBISHLEY. GATHERING IN MASTERTON YESTERDAY. Members of the Court and Police staffs in Masterton assembled at the Courthouse yesterday afternoon to honour the deputy clerk of Court, Mr J. C. Corbishley, prior to his leaving for Napier where he will take up residence, having been appointed to the National Service Department. The Clerk of Court, Mr A. Whitaker, and the baillif, Mr J. R. Fairbairn, referred to Mr Corbishley’s excellent personal qualities and to his efficiency as a court official. On behalf of the police. SeniorSergeant G. A. Doggett and DetectiveSergeant W. Kane spoke briefly. Sen-ior-Sergeant Doggett said Mr Corbishley was an exceedingly capable and courteous official. Fie had known Mr Corbishley when he was associated with other courts in New Zealand. Mr Corbishley was the recipient of a handsome pipe, which he suitably acknowledged.
