WOMEN’S DIVISION MEMBERS MEET AT PAHAUTEA. ("Times-Age” Special.) , The monthly meeting of the local branch of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held on Thursday at the residence of Mrs Connell. Pahautea. Mrs Ross presided over a fair attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Grant, McKay and Ness. The members who had been crocheting string mittens for the men ori minesweepers handed in their work. It was decided that the competition for next month be a hot water bag cower. The covers are to be sent to the military hospital at Trentham. ’ Mrs Ross expressed thanks to Mrs Connell for the use of her home. The hostesses were Mesdames'Connell and, Corlet. Lady Galway Committee. The Lady Galway Patriotic Crmmittco has packed and dispatched two cases of woollen garments and blanket:-. to the headquarters in Wellington. Word has been received from Mrs Hislop i Wellington) that no cotton or silk articles would be despatched overseas. Personal. Mr J. 13. Davis, who has been postmaster at Featherston for over four years, has received notice of his transfer to the position of postmaster at Morrinsville. and expects to take up his new position within the next forlnight. Mi- V/. A. Trask, postmaster at-Or-mcndville. will succeed Mr Davis. National Savings Movement. I The annual match with Tui Glen will be played at the local links on Sunday. Play will commence at 9.31! a.m.
