MADE TO PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH BENEFITS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN. April 29. | The following bequests of a public character are made under the will of Mr. A. Stronach Paterson, whoso death occurred last week: — University of Otago, £5OOO. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Dunedin, ’£soo. Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society, Incorporated, £lOOO. National Council of the Young Men’s Christian Associations of New Zealand (to be applied for particular work of that council), £lOOO. Dunedin Amenities and Town Planning Society. £5OO. Presbyterian Church of Now Zealand. free of duty as an endowment for augmenting by way of the income therefrom inadequate salaries of ministers in the said church. £lO,OOO. Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. the following legacies in each ease for the purpose of the endowment for and so that the income only shall be applied in aid of the objects mentioned in connection with such legacy: la) For beneficiary fund (aged and infirm ministers' fund and widows’ and orphans’ fund) in connection with the church. £15.000. ibi For Knox College. North East Valley. Dunedin. £lO,OOO. (c) For A. S. Paterson Library in connection with Knox College, £3OOO. (d) For the Presbyterian Women's Training Institute. Cumberland Street, Dunedin. £3OOO. (e) For St. Margaret’s College, Leith Street, Dunedin, £6OOO. (f) For the library in connection with St. Margaret's College. £l5OO. (g) For the women’s beneficiary fund in connection with the church for the benefit of single women missionaries in the foreign field, £5OO. Subject to the payment of private legacies and annuities, the residue of the estate is given to the Presbyterian Church of Nev/ Zealand.
