EASY WIN FOR MANAWATU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.. March 25. The Manawatu cricket representatives easilj’ retained the Hawke Cup today, when the challengers, Bay of Plenty, were defeated by an innings and 30 runs. When the visitors began their second innings this morning they required 123 runs to equal Manawatu’s first innings score of 220. but again mainly through the destructive bowling of Pritchard they were all out at lunch for 93. As in Bay of Plenty's first innings, Pritchard and Downes took the whole of the visitors’ wickets, the former’s figures being six for 23 and the latter’s four for 26.
