Lord Willingdon, who is to represent the British Government at the New Zealand Centennial celebrations, denied rumours that he is succeeding Lord Gowrie as Governor-General ol Australia. "I. am too old to take up a job ot that nature." he said, "but have arranged to make a short stay in Australia when 1 go to New Zealand." Lord Willingdon will carry a bundle of letters eighteen inches high as a result of his offer to act as postman to the New Zealand battery in Britain.
