Unity Freeman Mitford arrived and was taken to Lord Redesdale’s home in Buckinghamshire m an ambulance. It is confirmed that she is suffering from a serious head wound. Soldiers with fixed bayonets strongly guarded the quay. TOUCH OF MELODRAMA. AMBULANCE BREAKS DOWN. (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON. January 3. Miss Milford’s arrival was shrouded in melodramatic secrecy. A notice at the harbour gate prohibited any but authorised entry. Miss Mitford was carried on a stretcher from a boat to an ambulance, which drove off at high speed, but the ambulance broke down, and an accompanying car suffered a puncture. The party returned to Folkestone lor the night. _______
