GREYTOWN

ST. LUKE’S CHURCH MONTHLY MEETING OF GUILD. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of St Luke’s Guild was held at the Vicarage yesterday afternoon. Mrs York welcomed as new members, Mrs Benseman and Miss Kidd. She also welcomed Miss Tate to the Guild after her illness. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Day and Petersen. The President reported that the old piano at the Parish Hall had been sold for £5. It was decided to accept Mr Trotman’s tender for alterations. It was agreed to co-operate with the Red Cross Society in forming an Emergency Committee. The President referred to the dilapidation condition of the chairs in ine Parish Hall, and it was resolved to draw the attention of the vestry to the matter. Further arrangements for the Gipsy Fair were discussed, and Mrs Sheddon thanked all those who had brought gifts for the Novelty Stall. Afternoon tea was served by the hostess, Mrs Sykes, and the members accorded her a vote of thanks by acclamation. after which Canon Sykes closed the meeting by pronouncing the Benediction. \ Red Cross Society. The Greytown Red Cross Society has taken the Fire Brigade Hall, for the use of bandaging classes and First Aid general work. These classes will rheet on Sunday-afternoon. The Greytown Branch of the Red Cross Society has called a meeting of all local organisations for Wednesday next at which arrangements will bo made to combine all war time organisations under one head. Hockey Teams. The Grey town Boy Scouts team to play Wesley in the third grade championship play oil' at Carterton at 3 p.m. on Saturday is as follows; —Williams. Skeet, Anker (2). Raes, Brabender (2), Trotman, Day, Jury, Hobson. The Greytown junior team to play Carterton at Carterton will be as follows:—Greathead. Raison, Keltie, Dawbcr, Connolly, Hood, Barnard, Morgan, Dennes, Bouzaid. McKenzie.
