HITLER INDICTED
BROADCAST BY BRITISH PRIME MINISTER ADDRESSED TO GERMAN PEOPLE. ‘ FUEHRER’S BROKEN PROMISES LISTED. (Received This Day, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 4. A London message to the United Press says Mr Neville Chamberlain, in a periodic series of broadcasts to the German people, declared:—“Nobody in Britain any longer places trust in the word of your leader.” He then listed broken promises regarding Austria, Czechoslovakia, Munich and Poland and added: “He has sworn to you for years that he is the mortal enemy of Bolshevism. He is now its ally. Can you wonder that for us his word is not worth the paper it is written on?”
GERMAN BOMBERS SIGHTED OVER DUTCH TERRITORY, (Received This Day, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 4. A report from a United Press Amsterdam correspondent states that a Netherlands radio. message said German bombers were sighted, flying west, over Netherlands territory, ITALIAN LINERS SAILINGS TO RESUME. MAINTENANCE OF NORMAL RELATIONS. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) ROME, September 4. Italian liners are resuming sailings in a.few days’ time, thus indicating Italy’s determination for neutrality. It is stated that Italy expects France and Britain to continue normal relations, despite the Italo-German military alliance.
