FOOTBALL MATCHES WIN FOR TIRAUMEA. (“Times-Age” Special.) Playing on the Pongaroa Domain on Saturday, Tiraumea avenged their former defeats by Pukehinau by six points to nil. The game was very even. Tiraumea’s victory coming from two good penalty goals, scored by W. Thomas in the first spell. The match between Pongaroa and Coast was also played on the Pongaroa ground, which had become a quagmire. The game was a forward tussle, but the Pongaroa half-back, L. Berry, is deserving of special mention for his splendid handling of a greasy ball. ,The game resulted in a win for Pongaroa by three points to nil, the score being a try by Gordon Wright. Representative Match. The Dannevirke representative team will visit Pongaroa on Wednesday next. Owing to the condition of the Pongaroa Domain, the game will be played at Waione, and afterwards both teams will be entertained at Pongaroa. The following players will represent Puketoi: Backs —Peters. Hodder, Herbert, Bowie. Reiri, Urquhart, L. Berry; forwards, Maranui, McMillan, W. Meech, G. Laing (captain), G. Thompson, J. Meech, Harold and Gichard. Emengencies: Backs. C. Bellshaw, R. Miller; forwards, V. O'Brien, B. Smith. I Hay, W. Thomas and R. Newland, who have been chosen from the SubUnion to tour with the Bush team, arc not included for Wednesday’s match. The tourists will no doubt miss the services of G. Laing who is unable to make the trip. Golf Round. A medal round played during the weekend resulted in a win for T. 11. Mayman with a net 72. A. M. Theed is now leading for the eclectic competition with a score of 68. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs S. W.
