There was a very large attendance at the Parkvale Hall on Saturday, when occasion was taken to bid adieu to Mr. A. E. E. Robinson and Miss G. Parker. Visitors were in attendance from all parts of the district and a very happy time was sperjt. Items were rendered as follows: Song and recitations, Sunday School children; duet, Mesdames Downes and Peacock-; song, Mr. McKinnon; recitations, Mesdames J. Turley, A. H. Elkins and Mr. J. Roberts.

At a suitable interval presentations were made to the departing guests who have been resident in the Parkvale district for over 20 years. During this period, Mr. Robinson, with the assistance of Miss Parker, had bben in charge of the Sunday School in the district and had endeared themselves to children and parents alike. It was thought fit on the eve of their departure for Nelson, to recognise the good work done by both Miss Parker and Mr. Robinson during that long period. On behalf of the ex-pupils of the Sunday School, Mr. W. Hammond asked Miss Parker to accept a fountain pen, and Mr Robinson a pocket wallet. Both suitably thanked the ex-pupils of the school for their kindness. Mr. A. H. Elkins then make a further ' presentation to the guests, and in doing so said that the residents of the district had decided not to let Miss Parker and Mr. Robinson leave the district without showing them the esteem in which they were held among the residents of Parkvale and district. They had been energetic in assisting in the many functions held in the district,, and this was the more noticeable in regard to the spiritual welfare of the of whom they had taught many in the district over a period of 20 years. (Applause.) Mr. Robinson had been a director of the Parkvale Hall Company for ten years and for a number of years had been on the management committee of the Parkvale Hall Company and latterly was its secretary and treasurer. On behalf of the residents he had very great pleasure in asking Miss Parker and Mr. Robinson to accept a gold watch each suitably engraved. (Cheers.) "For They are Jolly Good Fellows" was then heartily sung. Mr. Robinson feelingly replied on behalf of Miss Parker and himself, and said that they would always have happy recollections of the residents and happy times spent at Parkvale. Supper was provided and presided over by the ladies of Parkvale. Borough Council. The monthly meeting of the Carterton Borough Council will take place in the Council Chambers tomorrow evening.
