FUNDS FOR TOURISTS
NO RESTRICTIONS SO FAR. ACCORDING TO MANAGER OF AGENCY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. New Zealanders desirous of spending a holiday overseas have nothing to fear regarding restrictions on the transfer of money for their requirements. This assurance was issued today by Mr J. F. Beckett, manager of Cook’s travel service. Genuine.tourists, he said, were allowed £3OO for each person, in addition to their steamer tickets, for the first six months and there was no difficulty in getting a permit for a further transfer .of cash for an extended holiday. “It is not the practice of the Reserve Bank,” said Mr Beckett, "to whittle down any application.” There v was no guarantee that . the Reserve Bank would continue to grant permits for the transfer of cash during the second six months of an overseas tour, he added. The bank held the right to consider an application in light of existing circumstances, but so far he had heard of no refusals.
